The Wee Clover Preschool is for children that are three and four year old and are potty trained. These students attend preschool from 8:00 to 11:30. Three year olds attend Tuesday and Thursday. The four year olds come Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They will arrive on buses with parent pick up at 11:30. Students will receive breakfast upon arrival. The fee to attend is $10.00 a day. The preschool schedule will follow the district schedule for USD 473. Lesson plans will include carefully planned developmentally appropriate activities, including the Zoo Phonics curriculum, to help develop each child’s growth in language, fine motor, and large motor, mathematical, social emotional, cognitive and self help skills. Outdoor play will also be offered during this time. The Wee Clover Preschool’s main focus is Kindergarten Readiness.
The classes focus on literacy-based learning to help children acquire the skills, knowledge, and behaviors they need to transition successfully into Kindergarten. Emphasis is placed on pre-academic and school readiness skills such as listening and communicating, reading and number concepts, and playing and working together. Wee Lads and Lasses offers a wide range of developmentally appropriate, enriching activities while focusing on each child’s individual social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.

Parents as Teachers is a early learning program sponsored by USD 473 for soon-to-be parents and parents with children up to kindergarten that are in the Chapman school district. Our mission is to provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life. We serve ALL FAMILIES with children from birth to age five (or kindergarten entry) in becoming their children’s first teachers. It is a voluntary program and provides services at no charge.
