Unified school District 473 - Chapman

Phase one - was the short-term recovery -- having school -- This was accomplished but required the use of many temporary mobile classrooms, the Catholic Church Parish Hall, and portions of damaged buildings that were repaired.  Through hard work, determination and dedication, school started on schedule on August 18th.

Phase two - It was determined that all schools in Chapman would be rebuilt.  Planning the best possible schools for the patron of our District was accomplished. A bond issue was needed to help finance rebuilding of the schools. It was passed overwhelmingly by the patrons of the District.

Phase three - The Education Center was rebuilt.  This was accomplished with the office staff moving into the new building in September of 2009.

Phase four - The High School and the Middle School will be rebuilt using the existing sites where the ruble has been removed.  The Elementary School will be rebuilt in Chapman, on a hill, out of the flood plane, North and West of the existing site.  This is currently under way.

Phase five - The Most of the construction will be completed and students and staff will move into the newly constructed buildings.  This is scheduled for Mid-Winter 2010.

Phase six - The temporary classrooms will be removed and construction of the remaining portions of the high school  will be finished. This is scheduled for spring and summer of 2011.

Welcome to Chapman Schools

Rain, mud, snow and cold weather has slowed progress on the reconstruction of Chapman Schools, yet a tremendous amount of work has been accomplished. In a short period of time pre-fabricated sides of the new auditorium and center portions of the high school will start to take shape. The re-opening of the High School Gym in January, allows the Students another place to call home.
